Rapinoe began participating in the Australian W-League with Sydney Football Club FC after which she returned in her home in the United States. She next played for in the Seattle Washington Sounders Women now known as the Sound FC. The 2013 season playing soccer in France. It was the Seattle Reign FC - now OL Reign - of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL, which was formed when the WPS disbanded - then became the team she was playing for. Rapinoe was awarded two bronze medals during the United States' 4-3 win against Australia at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Japan has been postponed until 2021 by the COVID-19 viral pandemic.
